Chain, dang

This is not really what you want to see when you hear a noise riding home from work on a warm friday afternoon.

Especially after having fixed the same chain after it broke riding TO work that morning.

That right there is the reason I switched to those slotted powerlink thing-a-ma-jigs.

In an attempt to revive my glory days of state medals in the short violent velodrome events, my 110kg carcass is doing intervals of as similar magnitude to the chainring crushing antics of the Unholyrouleur. With 15000km in 18 months a single powerlink has survived onto its 4th chain and 2nd cluster.

I reckon it was due to my dodgy chain tool flattening the end of the Shimano HG pins, the flex of the chain the driving the pin sideways till it hit the critical dimension and ping! 5 extra Dura-Ace links and the right chain tool at the LBS has given me renewed faith in my chain.
